A transgender highschool pupil in Mississippi didn’t take part in a commencement ceremony on Saturday after a federal judge ruled that the scholar would want to adjust to the varsity’s gown code for the occasion.
The 17-year-old is represented by the American Civil Liberties Union of Mississippi, who mentioned in an announcement on Twitter Friday that the courtroom’s determination to bar their consumer, who goes by initials L.B. in courtroom papers, from dressing in line with gender id is “deeply disappointing and regarding.”
