State Division gives to share categorised cable with key lawmakers

The cable was written by 23 of the division’s staff in Kabul, Afghanistan, and in response to the Wall Street Journal, warned that Kabul would fall after the Biden administration’s deliberate withdrawal deadline of Aug. 31, 2021. The Journal’s report additionally stated that the cable identified the Taliban was gaining territory shortly, and that it advised methods of dashing up the evacuation.
