Flat hearth in Ibrox as lady rushed to hospital and thick black smoke seen billowing from home windows

Emergency providers raced to a block of flats in Ibrox as flames ripped by means of the highest flooring of the residential constructing at round 4.15pm this afternoon.

Police, hearth and medical personnel are on the scene at Harley Avenue as they proceed to battle the inferno.

A witness informed Glasgow Stay that a person from the primary flooring was rescued by bystanders, whereas firefighters rescued one other from the third flooring.

A lady has been rushed to hospital because of the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson mentioned: “We obtained a report of a fireplace at a property on Harley Avenue, Glasgow, round 4.15pm on Friday, 6 January, 2023.

“Emergency providers attended and one lady has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth College Hospital for therapy.

“Officers are at the moment on the scene.”

Scottish Fireplace and Rescue have been contacted for remark.
