Ajo, Ariz. — The FBI and Tohono O’odham Nation police are investigating the deadly taking pictures of a tribal member by U.S. Border Patrol brokers in southern Arizona.
Customs and Border Safety officers stated brokers from the Ajo Border Patrol Station had been concerned in a deadly taking pictures on the Tohono O’odham reservation close to Ajo round 10 p.m. Thursday.
They stated the incident is underneath assessment by Customs and Border Safety’s Workplace of Skilled Accountability. However they have not launched any further data.
Tribal chairman Ned Norris Jr. stated in an announcement Sunday that the taking pictures occurred within the Meneger’s Dam group of the Tohono O’odham Nation and recognized the sufferer.
“Nation member Raymond Mattia misplaced his life within the incident. KVOA says Mattia’s members of the family instructed the station he went exterior when he noticed the brokers and he was shot a number of instances for an unknown purpose, solely two toes from his entrance door.
